Agree or disagree - weather misconceptions

These cards are a great way to generate discussion and identify learners’ misconceptions about the weather. Cut out the cards and ask learners' to place them on an agree/unsure/disagree continuum. To extend the learning you could ask learners to find evidence to support their answers.

Step by step

  1. Cut out the cards and ask the learners to place them on a Agree/Unsure/Disagree Continuum.
  2. Alternatively, read out the statement and ask the learners to place themselves along a continuum – this could be the length of the classroom, or outside.
  3. As an extension exercise, learners could look up evidence to support their answers, particularly for the ‘unsure’ cards. The quality and reliability of sources could also be discussed.
