This spring, take your teaching and learning outdoors with the National Education Nature Park by exploring the habitats on your school, nursery or college site and have the chance to win a bundle of outdoor learning prizes

Whether you're new to the programme or already involved, exploring your grounds is a fantastic way for students to connect with nature, develop essential skills and dive into real scientific research

Get started by registering and taking part in our Habitat Heroes activity to help your learners start to explore their site. Plus, if you take part between 22 April-22 May, you'll be in with the chance of winning a bundle of outdoor learning prizes for your school!

Time to map your site! Create a baseline for improving your outdoor spaces, identify areas to enhance for nature and track the incredible difference you’re making for both people and wildlife. This is an essential step in your Nature Park journey that sets you up for years to come.

Three ways schools have mapped their habitats

Mapping your site is the essential first step in your Nature Park journey that helps you understand your starting point and sets you up for curriculum teaching for years to come. Prize draw terms and conditions

Open to all education settings with a Department for Education URN in England. just register for the Nature Park programme as 'Staff at a school college or nursery', have created your site boundary and participate in the Habitat Heroes activity between 22 April 2025 and 22 May 2025 and you will be automatically entered. A winner will be chosen at random from those who enter and will receive a Natural History Museum merchandise bundle with a retail value of £150. Entries open 00:00:01 on 22 April 2025 and close at 23:59:59 on 22 May 2025. You must be aged 18+ to enter an education organisation. One entry per education organisation. Prize to be delivered to a UK address only. We will contact the prize winner by email during w/c 2 June 2025 and winners will receive their prize on or before 31 July 2025. We would like to publish the names of the winning organisations. You grant us a licence to use pictures you take in the Habitat Heroes activity. See terms and conditions for more details.
