Carbon consultants: helping a café go net zero
This enquiry-based resource turns students into “carbon consultants” tasked with helping a café reduce its carbon footprint and become carbon neutral. Across a series of linked activities, learners apply their understanding of Earth’s atmosphere and global warming, calculate carbon emissions, and evaluate solutions by considering social, economic and environmental perspectives.
The project builds scientific literacy, decision-making and citizenship skills while showing how climate science connects to real-world choices made by individuals and businesses.
