Coral Reef Ecosystems

Using the Menjangan Island Reef in Bali, Indonesia as a case study, students follow activities to answer the following questions:

  • What is a coral reef ecosystem like? How is this environment being used, impacted and managed?
  • What does the life of a field researcher involve? What methods were used to collect data for this study? Why were these methods chosen?
  • Which graph presentation methods are most suited to the data collected. How do we analyse graphs and the results collected. What conclusions have been drawn?
  • How will Phillips research influence future research and the management of the Menjangan coral reef ecosystem?

Use the lesson plan for further step-by-step guidance.
