In these activities, learners will step into the role of climate scientists and weather presenters, exploring how scientists use climate models to imagine what the UK’s future climate could look like. By investigating colourful maps, real data and different “what if?” scenarios, learners will discover how changes in greenhouse gas emissions can lead to very different futures, from hotter summers to wetter winters. Along the way, they will practise interpreting climate data, thinking critically about uncertainty, and discussing the impacts climate change could have on people and nature, before deciding which future they would most like to live in, and why.
