What is the anthropocene?
This resource invites learners to explore the Anthropocene – a time when humans have become the most powerful force shaping life on Earth. From warming temperatures and plastic pollution to changing landscapes and disappearing species, the Anthropocene tells the story of how human actions are leaving a lasting mark on the planet.
Through clear explanations, striking examples and short videos, the resource builds background knowledge and helps learners make sense of big ideas they see in the news, from climate change to biodiversity loss. As part of a flexible series of slide decks, it is designed to be adapted, edited and combined with other activities, allowing educators to tailor the content to different ages, topics and classroom needs.
