Story stick
This creative outdoor literacy activity supports learners in developing storytelling and expressive language through making a story stick from natural materials. Inspired by Aboriginal message sticks, pupils collect and attach objects that represent parts of a story or journey, building vocabulary and narrative structure as they work. The activity encourages imagination, speaking and listening skills, and a deeper connection with nature.
