First steps checklist
You've taken the first step by registering your school, college or nursery and joined the growing network of spaces that make up the Nature Park! To help you get started, below is a checklist of first actions to help you get to know the programme, find your way around the website and start to get learners involved.
Things to do
1. Get to know your way around the website
- Take a look at the How it works page to learn more about the 5 steps of the Nature Park
- Explore the resource library – use the filters or themed packages to find something for you and your learners
- Get started! Our Getting Started package contains a selection of activities to help you begin your Nature Park journey
2. Get outside with learners and put your site on the map
- Create your site boundary to put yourselves on the map - an essential first step
- Start looking for nature! The Hidden Nature Challenge is a great first step to get outdoors with learners and take a closer look at what is around you.
- Write a vision statement to help learners discuss and reflect on what matters to them for the future
3. Let everyone know you are part of something huge!
- Share your involvement on social media to let others know you have joined the #EducationNaturePark
- Get your whole school on board with a Nature Park Assembly
- We’d love to hear what your plans are for your school, nursery or college. Share your vision statement with us by emailing [email protected]
